Finally a daybed

We promised Hannah we would get her a daybed so we have been diligently looking for a daybed that didn't cost and arm & a leg for her and someone suggested craigslist.com so we began our search and 1 month later here we go. It's really nice and she loves it, now I have to get her a bedspread to go with it and some pillow shams but for now it's her pink sheets and high school musical blanket. Sweet dreams my little girl.

And the winner is Hannah!

Our sweet little girl was made Student of the month for the month of August for Trustworthiness. We are so proud of her. The school goes over character traits every month teaching the kids about character choosing the students according to who shows that character and lives it out. Last year when she got student of the month it was for the same character trait. Great job Hannah mommy & daddy are so proud of you and who you are becoming. God bless you sweetness.

And my word is PATIENCE

OK, today I had to go to the 17 & Union Hills to get fingerprinted for my new job. I was told to be there at exactly 2pm with a money order for $51 sounds pretty simple right? NOT!!!!!!!!!!!! On my way to work this morning I stopped at the bank for a $51 money order and had to pay $5 to get it so I got there at 1:50pm and was seated in the library to fill out the paper work and wait for the finger printing lady, well 2pm came and went and NO lady finally at 2:28pm (yes I was watching the clock) here comes this older lady (she told me she was in her 70's) shuffling in to where I was 28 minutes late and her cell phone rang she looked at me and said sorry I have to take this call it's important. (Now I guess that means I wasn't all that important to her.) She finally does my prints and I go to the office of the lady in charge to give her my money order for $51 and much to my surprise and this ladies dislike my money order is for $50 not $51 she told me she couldn't accept it because it wasn't for the right amount (let's just say compassion is not her gift) I ask her if I could just give her a dollar she said NO she can't accept cash I said what about a check she said NO only a money order so I proceeded to ask her what did she want me to do she said go get a money order for $1 at the AM/PM gas station I said OK where is the AM/PM she said oh yeah you don't live here so she told me how to get there so I went to AM/PM and ask for a money order and they said "we don't do that" I ask if they knew where I could get a money order and they sent me to Circle K I got directions and headed to Circle K where they gave me a money order for $1 but I had to pay .99 cents to get it in cash. So back I went and gave her the $1 money order and then I headed home only to make a turn to get back on the 17 and find out that the on ramp was closed so I had to go find another way to get back on the freeway.
You see at our leadership retreat last weekend we got words to study for the next year and I got the word PATIENCE and today was a lesson in patience. I must say I wasn't perfect but I did keep my cool. So my guess is this is only the beginning of my lesson in patience.

Getting a job and joing the PTO board

Brian and I have been going back and forth on whether or not I should get a job now that both of the kids are in school and I told him I could only get a job if it would let me work when the kids are at school and be off when they are off. So we decided that I should apply at the school at the end of the school year last year so I got the application and put it on my desk and it still sits there. Brian asked me if I ever turned it in and I told him no if the Lord wants me to work he will supply a job for me that will let me be off when the kids are off and if he doesn't then I don't have to work. Well tonight after our PTO meeting (oh yes I was elected to the board) I was approached by the principal & the vice principal wanting to know if I was interested in working part time at the school. First I smiled and tried not to laugh then I told them yes I would love to it will only be for 3 hours a day 5 days a week. (Watch what you pray for you might just get it)I will be working when the kids are in school and not working when the kids are out of school. Thank you God for my job.

The drive back to Denver

Colorado is so pretty
So much green
This is a historical Catholic Church
We found this Calvary Chapel in Nederoland Colorado
Such a beautiful peaceful drive back to Denver
The trip was beautiful, we had an amazing time together but were ready to get back to our two little ones that were home with Aunt Susie. Thank you Susan for watching the kids for us so we could get away and celebrate our 10 years.

Rocky Mountain National Park

If you hike in here you could see the water fall that started this rage of water
The park was so beautiful
the clouds started coming in
We saw 2 female moose
I guess we were bothering them
cute little chipmunk
I wasn't too thrilled about being up so high but the view was awesome
1/2 way up there was a bathroom and picture stop
As I was trying to get this picture a little boy who's hand you see walked up put his hand down and as this cute little guy got close to him he wacked it and knocked it down the other side
This little guy just sate there and watched us
Enjoying Gods beauty

Here comes the storm I am ready to get back down and out of here
There was still snow in some places
It began to rain
The only hiking Brian did was up this rock for this picture
Just checking out the view

We took a day to go into the park and look for animals and great views and we got it. It was a beautiful day and so we began our trek up the mountain on the way up I looked out my side window and realized how far up we were and that I couldn't see the road and thought I was going to get sick (me and heights don't mix) however I told Brian lets keep going I just wont look out the side window then the rain started and the clouds came in and it started to get foggy so my husband found a place to turn around and we went back down before the weather got too bad. We were so close to the top. If you are a hiker there are so many places to stop and start hiking. What an amazing thing to see. We are so spoiled by all the beautiful things God created just to bless us.

Looking into the river
This is a toy store called Estes Ark it's full or stuffed animal & such it's so cute
This guy walked in front of us while we were driving down the street so we had to stop and wait for him to cross and get to the side of the road
Brian wading in the river
This was a fun little bible book store
The road back to the place we stayed
This is on the patio of a great coffee shop called Coffee on the rocks
The Stanely Hotel (this is where the shining was filmed and parts of Dumb & Dumber)
Looking out over the city from the Stanley Hotel
There is a tram line that you can take up to the top of this mountain it's in this picture
We went miniature golfing and Brian beat me :0(

A look at dowtown Estes Park
Check out the fun slide in the background
This donut shop has been here for 30 years and makes the best donuts we got one for the road
