Devotional from Bayless Conley on the Adversary

I thought this was a good reminder to all of us who the real adversary is. Enjoy!

Your Real AdversaryI want to point you to an important teaching about trials in today's devotional.
You need to realize who your adversary is. It is not God; it is the devil. Look at 1 Peter 5:8-9,
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.
Some of the trials and sufferings that we experience are the direct result of the adversary's work. Some people want to blame God for everything, but the Bible says it is the thief-- the devil-- who comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Jesus came to give us life and more abundantly. Peter makes this even clearer in verse 10,
But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.
Our God is the God of grace. The devil is seeking to devour.Frankly, I hate the middle part of this verse, After you have suffered for a while.... Clearly, God wants us to understand that suffering is going to happen. Trials are going to happen. No matter how much you may say, "I don't receive it!", it is still there! You are going to go through difficult times. It is part of the human experience. But when you go through that time of trial, remember not to blame God. It is the devil who is your adversary!

Update on my nephew

The Pediatric Cardiologist said in simple terms Aaron is dehydrated (there is a technical term for it but this is what it means) therefore making his heart work harder and my sister has to make sure he drinks lots more water. She said the doctor told him when he pees it should almost be clear like water. So Praise GOD! It is that simple. Thank you to all who have been praying for him.

Update on Aaron

My sister talked to Aarons doctor today and the doctor said she was refering him to a pediatric cardiologist. He will check Aaron out and make the decision on whether he should wear a heart monitor for 24 hours. I am glad he is being seen by a pediatric cardiologist instead of just his GP doctor. I will let you know what happens next. Thank you to all of you who have been praying and email me to check up on him. God bless you all.

A Victory For Pittsburgh Steelers

Benny throws this to Heinz Ward for the Steelers only touchdown of the game but it turns out that was all they needed. The Steelers beat the Cleveland Browns 10-6. The Steelers are in first place in their division with a 2-0 record. Could number 6 be possible? Stay tuned.

Prayer Request for my nephew Aaron

Please pray for my sweet nephew he has been experiencing his heart racing off and on lately and sometimes takes his breath away. My sister and brother in law are waiting for the results of his EKG and blood work to see what it showed and if he needs to see a pediatric cardiologist and the possibility of wearing a heart monitor. He is 10 years old and his name is Aaron.
