Steelers fall short

A simple win could clinch their division but the Steelers not only fall short to the Jaguars 29-22 they also don't clinch their division and they lose their first home game this season. If they don't win the next game they could lose first place too. Come on Steelers let's not fall apart now we have had a great season.

Hannah's Suprise

Friday we told Hannah she wasn't going to school because we wanted to spend the day as a family, well much to our surprise she burst into tear and said "I want to go to school I have a spelling test and I am student of the week" I told her I already talked to her teacher and she said it was OK. We told her we were going to look for snow so we could all play. She said OK but was very disappointed whe couldn't go to school. (We were really on our way to Polar Express but she didn't know that we have kept it a secret since April)

We gave her a letter from the Polar Express to read to watch her face as she figured it out and I sat with a camera on her ready to take a picture of her response.

She said this is from the Polar Express and I said yes, she said "Are we going?" Yes we are I told her, she said are you serious. She was so excited.

Then she said this is the best surprise ever. It's OK if I didn't go to school for this, this started a very fun and exciting weekend that I will blog about tomorrow. So the Millage's began their trip to Williams, AZ to ride the Polar Express to the North Pole. to be cont....................

An insight into Esther

My sister is studying Esther just like we are and today I read one of her blogs it really touched my heart, I love the insight my sister has when it comes to reading the word. I thought I would share what she wrote. What a powerful truth. (Don't tell her I took her blog)

Esther 5:1-21 Now it came about on the third day that Esther put on her royal robes and stood in the inner court of the king's palace in front of the king's rooms , and the king was sitting on his royal throne in the throne room, opposite the entrance to the palace. 2 When the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, she obtained favor in his sight; and the king extended to Esther the golden scepter which was in his hand. So Esther came near and touched the top of the scepter.Observations: She chose to go before the King properly dressed – in her finest almost as if to show her respect to him and her seriousness of coming.** how do I go before my King? No it’s not about my actual clothes but it is about my actual heart – am I clothed with a state of mind of respect, and reverence.

Example: in my study time I take the time to pray and be still to pray on Gods Armor considering what each piece covers on my body and what that means, to repent if repentance is necessary, I breath just thinking of Him then I read asking Him to open the eyes of my heart to what He wants to show me knowing in faith that He will show me. It’s this little ritual thing I do before I begin in the Word- He didn’t go to her he just holds out the scepter and it is up to her to move towards it and touch it – this must be done before she can speak to him** it’s that picture of us God and the Jesus again – We can not reach God unless He gives us Jesus and we accept it– God makes the first move and then it is up to us to make the next move toward Jesus, but will we reach out and grab it. It’s there for us but are we willing to do it? Or would we rather stay in our current state of fear because we get to caught up in worrying about what it will look like once we grab on to Jesus.J.Vernon McGee calls the scepter “ The Scepter of Grace” - I like thinking about it in that way. For Esther she didn’t deserve it she broke protocol but she got it any way. For us we deserved death but God gave us Jesus anyway. As Christians God is there to give us grace daily and it’s up to us weather we take it or not. - so I ask have you taken your step today toward Him? have you reached out and taken what He has for you this very day? - - don't miss it!!!! - Esther saved a nation what can we do today if we just do our part?Keep Chasing Righteousness!!!!!

STEELERS DO IT AGAIN

Tonight the Steelers played the Bengals and won 24-10. All we need is a few more wins and we could clinch our division. We are on our way. Benny played well tonight but Ward was the man of the hour.

IQ Test

OK I took an IQ test after reading Monica's blog I didn't do as well as Monica but here are my results.

Congratulations, Tammy!Your IQ score is 118

This number is based on a scientific formula that compares how many questions you answered correctly on the Classic IQ Test relative to others. Your Intellectual Type is Inventive Inquisitor. You have the unusual distinction of being equally good at math and verbal skills. This means you are a creative thinker and are uniquely good at teaching others through experiences. You are also a great improviser and very good at handling change.

It was ugly but it was a win

Tonight the Steelers won 3-0 over the Miami Dolphins. It will go down as one of the wetest, dirtiest and ugliest monday night games but in the final seconds of the game Jeff Reed pulled off a field goal for the win. Keep it up Steelers you are on a roll.

Happy Thanksgiving here comes Christmas

We had such a nice Thanksgiving my sister, brother in law and nephew were here. I love spending time with my family. My sister and I made the dinner then we ate and Hannah passed out papers to everyone to write down what they were thankful for then she read them all out loud. It was good family time. I pray you all had a blessed Thanksgiving. The day after Thanksgiving my sister and I got up at O'dark thirty and we left at 4am and went Christmas shopping it was crazy and fun. Then we went to Pardise Bakery got some coffee and a mufffin put up our feet and talked about all the crazy things we had encountered that morning. Then we went home and got the family and went to the Bible Book Store then then Mall. Yes we are crazy but we had so much fun. Let the Christmas Season begin just don't forget that Jesus is the reason for the season.

Something to be thankful for

I am just praising God and thanking him with the Davis family that Laura has NO cancer. I know that even if the test said she did Matt and Laura would still have thought that God was good. So when you are thanking our Lord for all the things you are thankful for on Thanksgiving please also thank him for Laura. Our God is good.

Steelers fall short

Oh the shame! The Steelers came up short today in overtime against the Jets. Sometimes I think they go into a game a little too confident then they leave humbled. Not their best game this season however they are still in first place. Hang in there Steelers.

6 days to Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. (Don't get me wrong I love celebrating our Lords birthday) When I was a child I loved going to grandma & grandpa's house eating the best food ever cooked and spending time with my grandparents, Aunts, Uncles & Cousins. I come from a huge family and the holidays were always a big deal. My mom, aunts & grandma would start days in advance making pies (chocolate was always my favorite) cookies, candy, and breads. I was so blessed to be raised with all of my family around all the time, now as an adult I am left with all of my memories from the past and making new memories with my husband & children. I want to spend my day thanking our Lord for everything he has given us and instilling in my children how to have a heart of thanks. I am so blessed and I want to make sure the Lord knows how thankful I am. I will be blessed this year with my sister, brother in law and my nephew coming to town to be with us, I plan on cherishing the time with them and creating new memories. Make a list of everything you are thankful for and remember to thank our Lord. Here is my short list:

My salvation, my husband, kids, family, friends, my home and my church here is Surprise.

God bless you this holiday and I am thankful for all of you.

SHE DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday Hannah decided she was ready to learn how to ride her bike without her training wheels. So off to the park we went where there is alot of grass. I was a little concerned but she had on her helmet knee pads & elbow pads. Daddy took them off and after a few minutes he sent her down the grass and let go off she went like she had always known how. My little girl is growing up. One day sooner than we want we will have to take off the parental training wheels and let her go. This parenting thing is hard. We are so proud of her.

Halleluia Party Success

Tonight we had our Halleluia Party which was a great success there were over 600 people there it turned out great. It was fun, safe, and entertaining. Here are a few pictures from tonight.

A night to pray

Well here we are again October 31st a night I used to look forward to as a kid but now as a parent a night I dread. The world has become so distorted and evil that this night only causes me stress and sadness. My children are so frustrated that all that is on TV this month are shows that they are not allowed to watch and things that make "Jesus sad" as my 4 year old would tell you. We sat and watched Charlie Brown last night and it was so cute Linus waiting for the great pumpkin what happened to the innocence. I was very grateful that our family had something we could watch during this month. I encourage all my friends and family to make sure you take time to pray tonight for safety for our children and others and for the enemy to be bound tonight. Whether we are trick or treating, staying home to hand out candy, going to Halleluia or just spending time as a family doing something else we need to make sure we are covering this night in prayer especially tonight. Sometimes we are called to stand in the gap for others and tonight would be one of those nights. So please take time tonight today to cover this day in prayer for our kids, family, soldiers and our nation. God bless you all and keep safe.

Serving in ministry

I have this amazing book called "Principles of Leadership for Women" it is very direct and to the point about why do we serve, how do we serve and the results of service. I was looking through it today (I have already read the whole thing) and in the beginning it says "Our position is to be one of a servant" then it says "ministry is a privilege" I must say yes it is. The next statement is "Will I go all the way to Calvary or will I serve as long as I am comfortable" WOW! There is a statement to ponder. Remember God knows your heart so be honest with him. There is so much wonderful stuff in this book it definetly makes you check your heart and motives for serving. At the very end of the book it says "Every day you serve someone's eternity is at stake. Give out the Word. Let Jesus in you increase and you decrease. One day not too far away you will receive the greatest honor that can ever be given to any steward. You will stand in the presence of Almighty God and hear him say, "Well done, my good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of the Lord" Now that's a reason to serve." If you feel God calling you into ministry get a copy of this book the author is Gail Mays and read it, it's only 48 pages it will change your life. Even though I love serving and I know I am doing what God has for me to do I still need to re-read this book and keep my heart and motives in check. Just know there is so much joy in serving.

God's got you covered

"Be careful or your hearts will be weighed down with dissipation, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you unexpectedly like a trap" Luke 21:34 NIV
This is the verse in my devotion today then it says If you truly believe "No weapon formed against you shall prosper" then you shouldn't waste time worrying about unforeseen tragedies. God's got you covered. I like that phrase "God's got you covered" you know we tend to say that to our friends hey I got you covered and it tends to make us feel better but to know that God's got you covered does it get any better than that. Lastly my devotion reads Worry never changed anything, but God's word always does.
Praise God there is freedom in Christ.
